God of Wonders

I find moments where creation seems to be crying out and pointing me to the God of Wonders who created heaven and earth and all things on the earth.

And this particular photo matched with this verse got me thinking about His wonders and how His presence has been affirmed through history:

“God of Wonders”

The heavens declare Your wonders, O Lord,
A chorus of vibrant imagery,
It’s pointing us to Your affection for us,
As demonstrated throughout all history.

Your power was shown as the Red Sea was parted,
As Your people escaped the enemy,
Provision was given in manna from heaven,
As You fed Your people in their misery.

Your presence was seen in the fire at Mount Sinai,
As You then revealed Your mystery,
And Daniel rejoiced in Your sovereign protection,
With You he survived miraculously.

You’ve promised to be our refuge and strength,
If like David, we ask for it prayerfully,
Your passion was shown as You offered Your Son,
For You loved us unconditionally.

We’ve tested Your patience in all our distraction,
Yet You welcomed us back so longingly,
You’ve given us peace that passes understanding,
Though we accept it so irregularly.

So thankful for signs of You being with us,
We’re awed by Your splendor and majesty,
You’ve proven Your faithfulness in these and in more,
And You’ve built us a home for eternity.

I’m indeed thankful for those moments that make me pause, feel close, sense His presence and purpose, and then step forward in faith with peace, which this moment did!
