Hearing
As I think back on my journey in faith, I’m so grateful for the countless, faithful messengers of the Lord who shared with me His gospel and guided me to a closer walk with Christ. Many of those helped with understanding for sure, but some also created accountability in ways that they may never know.
This poem is in tribute to all those who were faithful and shared:
“Hearing”
I hear Your words from those faithful,
They’ve spoken truth, I am grateful,
It’s from that sharing that I found,
A pathway to Your holy ground.
It starts with faith in Your own Son,
Who died for me, the victory won,
For with His blood, He made me clean,
My life of sin He did redeem.
He kept me from what I deserved,
And replaced that with grace reserved
For those whose hearts are opened up,
For mercy then to fill their cup.
It gives Your child a newfound peace,
Which only comes as we release
Our paths and plans now to Your will,
Only then will our hearts be still.
It’s then that we can know You more,
As You reveal Your wisdom’s store,
Which prepares us to also share,
Rejoicing in how much You care.
This all began with me hearing
From Your loved ones faithfully sharing
The Good News that ended my yearning,
Resulting in Your saints cheering.

I’m looking forward to the celebration that’s to come where all of God’s children will be worshipping together for eternity.
And I’m hoping I get to thank each one of those who have influenced me so profoundly in faith.
What a blessing they each were to me.
Stan
