Precepts

I’ve been known to share my “Precepts of Business” with others, and it made me smile to see “precepts” in a Bible verse. Such guidance and understanding is essential for all of us as we strive to trust and obey in our walk with the Lord.

And focusing on precepts inspired this:

“Precepts”

There’s proof of You everywhere,
It makes me pause and pray,
In those moments I know You’ll share,
It’s then I hear You say:

“My expectations aren’t complex,
It’s faith in what I’ll do,
Just trust in me for what is next,
That I’ll take care of you.”

Your precepts show Your will for me,
Guidance that’s holy and true,
Divine instructions for my journey,
A map provided by You.

With confidence I now step forth,
Your words will be my guide,
I’m thankful that You’ve set my course,
I need You by my side.

I meditate on all Your deeds,
In them I’m full of awe,
With faith in You I’ll now proceed,
Responding to Your call.

In my journey to know God more and to simplify faith so I can better understand, seeing “precepts” became a really good reminder for me about the simplicity of God’s expectations of us and His promises to us. 

It also reinforced for me to focus on God’s ways and purposes, rather than my current situation.
