He Saved Me

I’ve been thinking about those times when I felt helpless – when my situation was dire, when my hope was fading, and when I couldn’t see a way forward – all I could do was cry out to the Lord.

Looking back now, I remember those moments of peace when God stepped into my helplessness and offered me that lifeline to His holy, saving presence.

This poem reflects my thankfulness for His faithfulness:

“He Saved Me”

In the midst of my pain, the Lord heard my cry,
He heard me screaming, “why Lord, oh why?”
It’s then He stepped in to my helplessness
and gave me a lifeline to His holiness.

He let me know He was there for me.

I shared with Him how very lonely I felt,
how deeply I needed His strength and His help,
He affirmed for me He knew what I faced,
and offered me hope my despair to replace.

He gave me the comfort I desperately sought.

He reached out to me with His helping hand,
I grasped it tightly and He helped me stand,
though I still had pain, I felt richly blessed,
and in that moment, I could finally rest.

His grace was sufficient for me.

I cannot repay Him for all He has done,
but I can be faithful to Jesus, His Son,
through trust and obedience, I show my love
in thankfulness for all His gifts from above.

With every breath I’ll praise the Lord.

I’ll step forward now with dependence on Him,
and listen intently to His voice within,
for He dried my tears so that I can now see,
I am rejoicing for He has saved me.

Many I know are facing challenges today – some quite extreme – where their hope is fading and the pathway to something less painful isn’t clear.

From experience, it’s often in our weakest moments that we sense the presence of our ever-present God the most and find comfort in Him.

And when we trust in Him, depend on Him, and release to Him, it’s then we receive His peace.

Whatever challenge we may be facing today, I’m praying we have that trust and experience that peace.
