We tend to be demanding of God, raising our prayers and expecting Him to answer based on what we want and the timing we prefer…our will be done instead of His will be done.

But God’s timing is perfect, all working for good in accordance with His will.

He wants us to trust Him with the path and plan.

In my misfortune and my distress,
I let You know my view of best,
I raise my prayer with confidence,
Fully believing my providence.

I launch, then leave, waiting for You,
To do for me, what You can do,
Fully expecting, You’ll do my will,
I trust in You, my goals to fulfill.

The longer I wait, I wonder what’s up,
The harder I pray, I try to disrupt,
Your timing now, what it may be,
Ensuring You know, what’s best for me.

Then I wait more and wonder if You,
Heard me shout out, asking You to,
Do what I want, for I think it’s best,
I’m worried now, not getting rest.

My crisis gets worse, I’m now in despair,
I soften my heart, my needs I lay bare,
I humbly approach, release me to You,
Waiting for You, is now what I do.

I hear Your voice, whispering to me,
Just making sure, I’m listening,
You tell me clearly, “I heard your prayer,
Trust me right now, you know I care”.

I know You do, so I wait for You,
To answer me, as You will do,
In Your due time, all for my good,
Knowing You will, You said You would.

You see a view, I just can’t see,
You know the plan, what’s best for me,
Patience is needed, a key part of faith,
Answers will come, I’ll prayerfully wait.
