God’s Love

When thinking of love, it seems right to focus on what love truly is…love defined by the One who first loved us…who showed us through His example of how to love one another.

God knew we needed both a definition and demonstration of what love is! He gave that to us in His Son!

May the love we share every day reflect God’s patient love for us!

We love because You first loved us,
Your love endures, it’s generous,
Your love is steadfast, never fails,
Your love burns bright and never pales.

It’s love that does not envy or boast,
A love unending, mercy-soaked,
Your love forgives and casts out fears,
It bears all things and dries our tears.

You showed us love so differently,
Through Your Son, sacrificially,
A love that gives unselfishly,
A love that thrives in unity.

Faith, hope, and love are what remain,
Greatest is love is Your refrain,
You ask for us to love like You,
A love so pure, a love so true.

We love like You through forgiveness,
Helping others, showing kindness,
Giving grace, through faithfulness,
With acts that mirror Your goodness.

I thank you Lord for loving me,
For showing me how love should be,
May my life now reflect Your love,
All that You’ve taught me from above.
