Holy Echoes

The inspiration this week started with a prompt from a friend who shared with me how last week’s poem was a “holy echo” with what he was experiencing in his life at that time.

The term “holy echo” made me smile…and got me pondering a new poem!

So I started prayerfully writing.

And this is what emerged:

“Holy Echoes”

Echoes of God are everywhere,
reminding us how much He cares,
echoes of His sovereignty,
and others of His majesty;
some reinforcing His commands,
others showing us His hands,
some just simply praising Him,
and others nudging us within.

Some ask us to now step forth,
in joyful obedience to the Lord,
and others let us know He’s here
reminding us He’s always near;
some will also course correct,
those times His law we disrespect,
and some echoes just bring us peace,
when we in faith to Him release.

Holy echoes are divine gifts,
tuning our hearts to God’s Spirit,
they’re pointing us back to His word,
amplifying truths that we have heard;
they help us to remain focused,
on all His works we have witnessed,
then God can use us as echoes,
to share His love so others know.

The more I thought of “holy echoes”, the more I realized how often and repetitively God speaks, and how seemingly easy it is for us to get distracted or diverted or intentionally overlook it.

The Lord’s desire is for us to acknowledge and listen…to seek and find…to release and receive…to hear and then act.

The holy echoes are there for us.

We need to slow down enough to see His light, to hear His truth, and to receive His direction.

Then…maybe…we allow the Lord to use us as holy echoes for Him!

May we each be His echoes…shining His light and sharing His love!
