I Know His Name

I love the song “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” – so simple, so wonderfully worded, so important to hang tight to…caring, loving, faithful.

I find myself whispering His name more and more with each passing day.

There is power in the name of Jesus, and He never forsakes those who seek Him and call on His name.

“I Know His Name“

There is a name we all should know
A faithful friend wherever we go,
One we can trust to always care,
When we’re in need, He’s always there,
He’ll be our strength when we feel weak,
He’ll be our refuge when we seek,
He is a friend that is aware,
Of our issues before we share.

His name is Jesus, He’s the One,
The risen King, God’s only Son,
He came to earth to show the way
To love like Him, to serve each day,
Have joy and peace because of Him,
To listen to His Spirit within,
To trust in Him and let Him lead,
To stand in awe of His wonderful deeds.

Those that seek Him, He won’t forsake,
He cherishes those whose hearts do ache
To be with Him, to do His will,
To cease striving, whose hearts are still,
Who always seek to know Him more,
That sing their praises to the Lord,
That worship Him, proudly proclaim
“I live for Him, I know His name.”
