I Will Not Be Shaken

It’s so easy to be overcome with worry and fear as we look forward into the uncertainty of life. And even though we know that our God is faithful and He is certain, when we lose focus on Him and let our minds wander, it’s then we can be traumatized by what might be next.

It’s the focus on the Lord that prevents us from being shaken:

“I Will Not Be Shaken”

As I stare ahead, all that I can see,
is so much unknown, it all concerns me,
What I will soon face, there’s no way to know,
I am uncertain of just where to go;
But peace I can find because You are here,
You’re right beside me, You’re dousing the fear,
I’m trusting You now for You have the plan,
I’ll keep holding tightly to Your mighty hand.

You’ve proven again, You’re faithful, oh Lord,
when in Your will, I commit and step forward,
It’s Your protection that I rely on,
and it’s with Your help that I can stand strong,
Though so much still seems so out of control,
Your endless love You never withhold,
For You have promised that I’m not forsaken,
whatever now comes, I will not be shaken.

We need to have God’s promises on repeat in our minds – He is faithful; we are not forsaken; He is with us; He is for us – and then we can keep our focus on the One who is certain in our times of great uncertainty.

Then we won’t be shaken!
