Keep On Praying

One of the many things that I’m in awe about is how an omniscient and omnipresent Creator and God can care about me, wanting me to stay in contact and constant communication with Him. And He cared enough to both give us instruction and give us a Helper!

He wants us to stay connected to Him…to stay focused on Him…to stay obedient to Him…to keep receiving from Him.

He wants us to keep on praying:

“Keep On Praying”

Though You know all that’s going on,
You still want a divine connection,
You want me to just keep on praying,
Make sure it’s not a game I’m playing;
For prayer will bring Your Spirit close,
And then Your Spirit will expose
Things keeping me from being still,
And draw me back within Your will.

And in my stillness You will show,
Those things that You want me to know
So I can better live for You,
Allowing those I run into,
To see Your light shining through me,
As I share how You’ve faithfully,
Provided for me in my need,
And when at risk You intercede.

You are my refuge and my strength,
And You will go to any length,
To bring me back when I wander off,
To pick me up each time I fall;
You want me to just trust in You,
Then You will tell me what to do,
For with that trust Your peace arrives,
Brings my big problems down to size.

I then can walk with confidence,
Trusting You with resilience,
I can withstand what comes my way,
Believing in all that You say;
For You are with me, won’t forsake me,
With You I live courageously,
“Thank you, Jesus,” I’ll keep on saying,
I’ll be alert and keep on praying.

I have this prayerful chant I do anytime I feel anxious, or uncertain, or weak, or just drifting, and it helps focus me back on the Lord and gives me peace:

I thank You, Lord,
I praise You, Lord,
I trust You, Lord,
Thy Will be done.
You are with me,
You are for me,
You will not fail me,
You are my strength.

The prayer always gets me focused on the Lord, and allows me to push out those other things that may be bothering me.
