Lifted Up
In Sarah Young’s devotional called, “Jesus Calling”, Sarah says, “Waiting, trusting, and hoping are intricately connected, like golden strands interwoven to form a strong chain,” with trust being the center strand and then waiting and hoping wrapped around it, strengthening the chain.
I love that description of us hanging tight to the Lord, and the Lord lifting us up and out of our situation!
It’s trust and then hope that pull us up, keep us going, and fuel us through the issues and challenges we will inevitably face in this world!
“Lifted Up”
I’m weary right now from the challenge of life,
the burdens are great, I’m weak from the fight,
I see in myself, no path to renew,
so I kneel in my struggles and reach out to You.
It’s now in Your light, I find hanging down,
a glorious strand of trust and hope wound,
In each woven thread it was stunningly clear,
Your presence and strength are always right here.
I reach up and grab tight, hang on to Your love,
and You pull me up to Your peace up above,
I find in my reaching Your promise made new,
it’s trust and then hope which will pull me to You.
