Light
I wish I could tell you that I stood strong in my faith in my darkness or in the storms of my life.
But I didn’t.
I gave in to the fear, the anxiety, the doubts, the uncertainty.
But I remember vividly how God’s light broke through in my times of great need, and how He showed He was near as I hit my knees in prayer and release.
Maybe one day I’ll have confidence instead of doubt and certainty instead of anxiety…God’s done His part to give me that assurance…I need to do my part to trust in Him!
“Light”
When in the tempest, exceedingly tossed,
the darkness is coming, all seems so lost,
the waves keep on growing, the fear so severe,
I cry in that moment, “Lord, are you here?”
I’m desperately seeking any type of sign,
trusting but doubting, somewhat resigned,
but in that moment, peace comes through piercing,
in the midst of the storm I hear, “Yes, I am listening.”
I pour out my soul to our God of creation,
near screaming for help, in my situation,
and God whispers loudly, “Just follow my light,
I’ll lead you to safety, You will be all right.”
I follow God’s light, leads me out of despair,
it’s comforting now, in His tender care,
I learn yet again, to trust in each moment,
and maybe next time I’ll remember He’s earned it.
