Miracles

There are many moments I forget how close God truly is.

But the more I seek, the more I find His presence everywhere and His fingerprints on everything – in creation for sure; in that unexpected moment where someone calls at that perfect time with the perfect comment; in that reminder of what God has done at the needed time to help me overcome.

All affirming that God is miraculously here…providing for me; protecting me; uplifting me; loving me:

“Miracles”

When I bow down to pray and praise,
I start with thanks, then worries raise,
I sometimes wonder if You’ll hear,
Or if at times You might appear;
I pray in hope You’ll show me how
To know You’re present with me now,
It’s then I feel You take my hand,
I hear You saying as I stand:

“Just come and see what I have done,
And realize I’ve just begun,
To share my love, my care for you,
There’s evidence in all I do;
Just look around, be filled with awe,
Pause and reflect on what you saw,
Then trust in me with all your heart,
And know we can’t be torn apart.”

It’s then a peace comes over me,
I now find You in all I see,
I recognize Your presence here,
I see Your works, I feel You near;
You’re visible in all creation,
It just requires my attention,
Your miracles have reinforced
You’re all I need, You are my Source.

Miracles aren’t always loud or spectacular.

We may be looking for or maybe expecting massive displays, though.

More often, miracles show up in a desperately needed moment of peace or in a just-at-the-right-time conversation that gets us through a difficult spot.

I’m now thinking they are happening all the time, and there’s so much more I need to give the Lord credit for!

I pray we each pause long enough to acknowledge God’s presence, remember what He has done, and trust Him for what He is still doing.

And in those moments of awareness, may we see our God at work and recognize the miracles He’s performing.
