New

As I think about my journey in life, I’m embarrassed now by the many, many times I rebelled and sinned, doing things my way and arrogantly believing that my choices and my path and plan were right.

That guilt and shame has been washed away by the love of our Lord.

So thankful that with His grace I’ve been made new!

“New“

I thought I knew what’s best for me,
I then got lost in humanity,
The things I chased led to despair,
I could barely come up for air,
But in that darkness, I saw the light,
A chance with God to make things right,
I made the choice to follow Him,
And He forgave me of my sin.

I gave my heart, I was transformed,
I am now different from before,
From shame and guilt to hope and joy,
A child of God, I now enjoy,
The benefits of family,
Free to all who’ve been redeemed,
My life of sin has been replaced,
With righteousness through love and grace.

My life’s no longer about myself,
For inside me His Spirit dwells,
I look within, not to the world,
In Him I find wisdom unfurled,
He helps me see the path to go,
He takes me to where I can grow,
To know Him more, what I pursue,
The old is gone, I’ve been made new.
