Work in Progress

God is at work in each of us…growing us, teaching us, edifying us…a life-long effort to help us be more like Him, with the ultimate outcome of being completed at the time we enter His presence in glory.

And oh what a challenge He had in me! So thankful for Him nurturing in this process and not condemning. So thankful for His forgiveness when I’ve fallen short and struggled to submit and obey. So thankful for His patience with me and purpose for me. So thankful for His mercy and grace.

I am truly a work in progress.

“Work in Progress”

I try so hard…
…to do the right thing;
…to say the right words;
…to take the right steps;
…to trust You, Lord, in all situations.

Then I struggle so much…
…when it turns out so wrong;
…when someone is hurt;
…when I go down a bad path;
…when I doubt You Lord.

But I remember Your words…
…all things work together for good;
…love others like I love you;
…You will make my paths straight;
…lean not on my own understanding.

And I find comfort in knowing…
…You love me as I am;
…You made me in Your image;
…You have a plan for me;
…You will not forsake me.

So I pause now in this moment…
…to thank You for Your love;
…to praise you for Your handiwork;
…to release to You my path and plan;
…to trust you with all my heart.
