Before

Before time began, before the mountains rose, before we drew our first breath, God was!

So hard to wrap my mind around that, but in faith, it’s easy to wrap my heart around it!

With faith, we can trust that our eternal, faithful, loving God was there at the beginning, is here with us now, and will be with us forevermore.

His faithfulness – then, now, and for eternity!

It’s hard for me to understand
How all of this came from Your hand,
How You created time and space,
How You gave us this dwelling place,
How You were here from the beginning,
Even before the earth was spinning,
Long before the mountains were born,
Certainly before we made You mourn.

When finished You said all was good,
That we would sin was understood,
Yet You went forward anyway,
Created us on the sixth day,
Gave us dominion on the earth,
Defined for us what is true worth,
Designed for us a path and plan,
To walk with us and hold our hands.

You know our lives from start to end,
And though we sin, You don’t condemn,
Instead You love us, You are just,
When we repent, You redeem us,
You welcome us back in Your arms,
Protecting us from any harm,
Where with Your grace we are restored,
It’s in our hearts Your love is poured.

You’re timeless and omnipotent,
All knowing and omnipresent,
You know each breath that we will take,
And know decisions we will make,
As we step forth within Your will,
You give us peace, our hearts are still,
With faith in You, You’ve set us free,
Our futures now are guaranteed.

Before all time You chose to be,
Our faithful God for eternity.
