Oh Well

We can shift from anxiety and worry to concern with conviction by saying and faithfully believing, “Oh Well”, knowing we’re not alone in this moment nor dependent on our own capabilities to get through whatever we may be facing.

It’s not easy, though, releasing to the Lord the current situation and the outcomes that will occur. We want to control both of those things. It’s in our nature.

It’s through releasing – that “Oh Well” moment – when we open ourselves up to receive His peace.

Oh Well

“Oh well” is not just giving up,
Nor a sign that things are stuck,
It’s also not that we don’t care,
Or we’re not going anywhere,
“Oh well” is not a resignation,
Nor a sign of desperation,
It’s not a feeling of defeat,
Or knowing that we can’t compete.

Instead it is rightful release,
Of the burdens that prevent peace,
It’s trusting outcomes to the Lord,
Allowing hope to be restored,
It’s turning over path and plan,
Acknowledging God’s righteous hand,
Is controlling what will occur,
We rest in Him with hearts assured.

“Oh well” is a bold statement of faith,
That gives God’s children all a break,
From burdens that may wear us down,
Or things that take us to the ground,
For with “oh well”, we are set free,
From the worries of what will be,
We know all things work for the good,
God’s will be done is understood.
