Evidence
I was inspired by what Dr. Harvey Gates shared with me last week:
“In view of the fact that “the whole earth is full of His glory”, then it should not be difficult to see some aspects of HIS glory each and every day! Because HE is glorious and designed the earth through and to include the galaxies, we should see, gaze upon, and be captivated by myriads of nuances in HIS creation. I would not have to pray, “God show me your glory today” for it would be obvious through eyes of expectation.”
Harv concluded his message by suggesting that we can approach every day with this question – “What aspect of HIS glory will I see today?”
Love that!
What a wonderful stage setter for today’s poem:
“Evidence”
As I look around, I find proof of You,
From the rhythm of things to the artistic hues,
From sunrise to sunset, all moments between,
I’m in awe of Your wonders, both seen and unseen;
To the ends of the earth, there is evidence,
Of such perfect order, divine influence,
It can’t be by accident that things are this way,
Your glory is written in night and in day.
In awe I am witness to Your majesty,
In all that I see, such creativity,
All things come together in Your master plan,
Intricately placed by Your mighty hands;
When I then look close, I see that You signed,
Each piece of Your art, all that You designed,
Each detail reveals Your wonders at work,
Your fingerprints on all Your handiwork.
The heavens shout out with things You have done,
So many examples, creation just one,
My voice joins the chorus that’s singing with joy,
In thanks for the evidence that can’t be destroyed;
For You knew exactly what I needed to see,
To constantly remind me that You are with me,
So many pieces all wonderfully made,
All part of the evidence that You have displayed.
So much evidence…not by accident but by design…for assurance…for inspiration…for hope.
And with so much messiness today, having the choice of focusing on that evidence instead of the messiness is awesome.
Awe vs ugh – I’m choosing the awe!
May we all have eyes of expectation!
Stan
