Glory in the Heavens
I love it when creation speaks to us…when something in the sky or the world around us points us back to the One who made it all.
And I love how the awe we feel in those moments draws us closer to our God…the One who designed those heavens and each one of us as well.
A friend recently experienced the eclipse in Spain, and what he shared through his photos and words inspired this poem:
“Glory in the Heavens”
We see through creation Your artistry poured,
the heavens declaring Your glory, O Lord,
we find awe and wonder in what is displayed,
stunning excitement in the symphony played;
It’s like You’re here with us, it’s spiritual,
we feel more connected, You’re reachable,
in all that we see we find inspiration,
a spectacular flow of divine persuasion.
You work on our hearts to draw close to You,
talking to us through celestial views,
You make it so obvious, Your majesty,
though much that we see is true mystery;
You reveal more as we learn to be still,
and focus our awe on obeying Your will,
when all that we are, to You we release,
it’s then that the wonderment leads us to peace.
I get back to life with a holy prospective,
walking with You and a transformed perspective,
assured of Your presence, You’re walking with me,
Your power displayed unforgettably;
I’m thankful to You for Your revelation,
just further assurance of my salvation,
to You mighty Lord, my hands will be raised,
all glory to You, You are worthy of praise!

The heavens sing His praise, reminding us of who God is…and they invite us to be still, to listen, and to let Him shape us into who He desires us to be.
Praying that each of us find awe in creation, peace in His presence, and purpose as we step forward in faith.
In His love,
Stan
