Trust

In this season of my life, I’ve been stepping forth in faith without much clarity as to where the path is taking me.  So I’m trusting while stepping, fully believing the Lord will make my paths straight in accordance with His plans for me:

“Trust”

I’m looking ahead, unsure of the path,
But trusting in God to provide my map,
I’m fighting my instinct to focus on me,
Embracing the journey with faith as my key.

The path is unknown, but He makes it straight,
My future’s with Him and He is my fate,
He’s promised His presence each step of my way,
I get closer to Him with each passing day.

I see in the distance a home built for me,
Where peace and joy dwell, there I long to be,
A place of true worship where pain is no more,
Where in His presence I’m fully restored.

Submitting to Him, my heart is sincere,
I yearn to be with Him, but work to do here,
I’ll follow the path He’s lighting for me,
And trust Him completely for all I will need.

I’ve had a lifetime of stepping then praying or controlling then yielding.

I’m trying to be different this time, praying and yielding first, and then stepping forward with peace, trusting in the Lord for that next step.

It’s hard though…breaking years of being out in front of the Lord…being patient with a lack of clarity for what’s to come…pausing and praying much more often to welcome the Lord into this moment with me…moving from hope to belief that the Lord is with me and for me in this season…all part of the journey.

So thankful for the lessons being learned.
