Moments

I think each of us find ourselves thinking forward to what is yet to come and pondering what that might entail. Then, the longer we focus on the future and what’s coming next, we open ourselves up for the anxiety that naturally comes.

When I find myself doing that, I’m quickly drawn back to focusing on right now and maximizing each moment, fully knowing that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed:

Moments

Each moment comes with expectation,
Knowing I have a path and plan,
That comes from the God of all creation,
Who’s guiding me with His strong hand.

I know not what each day may bring,
But I step forward in His care,
And with each step my heart does sing,
His love for me is what I share.

He calls for me to live with purpose,
And with His strength I will prevail,
For through His gift, I am victorious,
Over all in life that will assail.

So thankful for the peace that comes,
From tuning in to His still voice,
And through His whisper my heart He drums,
Which then blocks out distracting noise.

I yield to Him more in each moment,
Fully trusting His plan is good,
For through His grace I have atonement,
I depend on Him now as I should.

We are truly just mist in the wind, relatively speaking, and with more moments behind me than in front of me now, I’m realizing even more how important each moment really is.

Hebrews 3:13 says, “But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today.”

So thankful for another moment to trust more, support more, and encourage more.
