Peace

The peace we long for can seem way beyond our reach as we struggle alone with the apprehension or frustration or irritation of things happening in our lives today.

Thankfully, God’s Word assures us that when we seek Him, we find Him, and when we release our burdens to Him, we receive His peace:

“Peace”

The threats are real, it’s hard to rest,
I face each one and do my best,
I’ve done all that I know to do,
My strength is gone, I cry to You.

In my distress, I feel Your touch,
You calm my heart, You care so much,
You shine Your light so I can see,
And let me know You are with me.

I feel secure in Your embrace,
You hold me gently in Your grace,
My fear is gone, my worries cease,
By trusting You, I receive peace.

I lay down now for needed rest,
I know I’m loved, I feel so blessed,
The peace I have, a gift from You,
With You with me, I’ll make it through.

Christ is our Source for peace…a peace that can always be found and cannot be shaken…a peace that was gifted to us.

May we quiet our hearts, trust fully in the Lord, release our cares to Him, and rest in His peace.
