  • Brokenhearted

    Brokenhearted

In those darkest of times, when we’re broken to the core, it’s then through faith we can find that piercing moment of peace that comes from the recognition of being held by our Savior, who also suffered and was broken, and cries with us in that pain. With His grace, mercy, and love, we’re able…

  • Know God More

    Know God More

This poem reflects my journey over the years to know God more…to get into His word…to be aware of His presence…to get a much better (and simpler) understanding of faith. Oh what a journey it has been, and as I look back, I can now see clearly how He was watching over me each step…

  • Limitless God

    Limitless God

It’s typically in hindsight that I realize the limitless power and understanding of the Lord. The Creative Process

Each poem starts with an inspiration – could be a photo that triggers a thought, a thought that then matches to a photo, or a yearning from Scripture that then results in the pursuit of a photo that matches with it. Almost all result in deeper discovery about the precept of faith that emerges from the photo or thought.

Many of the core elements of faith end up in multiple inspirations and thus multiple poems as a result.

All of the poems are drafted and then set aside, and when I return to them, the inspiration from the beginning is either affirmed and the poem then finalized, or I’ll make significant edits based on where the Spirit leads me in that revisit.

I get great joy in the creation process, and I smile when I feel like the poem captures the thought put on my heart in the exact way I felt inspired with it.

That’s not always the case, but I love it when it happens that way!
