Reflection

Any time of transition is a great opportunity to reflect on the past, assess the current, and look forward with expectation and excitement.

Our focus should be on recognizing God’s presence in those past and present moments and committing to seeking and finding Him even more often in the moments ahead.

I think that focus is captured well in this verse and poem:

Reflection

What I see in the reflection,
Is not reality,
It’s beautiful in many ways,
The difference is the key.

A mountain’s here not there before,
Behind in this new view,
A shadow of the one in front,
So colorful and new.

It adds a depth that’s even more,
Than what I would expect,
I’m smiling as I see this now,
It’s making me reflect.

On God’s creation built for us,
It shows His majesty,
But what we see is limited,
To what our eyes can see.

We have to look in awe for Him,
Beyond just what we see,
And find His presence everywhere,
Reflecting His glory.

We thank you Lord for all You made,
That helps us think of You,
For as we find You in all things,
Our hearts can be renewed.

My goal is to seek and find Him in many more moments, to cherish those moments even more when I feel His presence, and to trust fully that He’s at work for me, in me, and through me.
