Scripture
What a gift we have in Scripture – history, truths, promises, guidance, affirmation, living examples, and so much more.
One of the things I cherish the most is the transparency of God’s Word. We see flawed, hesitant, fearful, and even rebellious people being restored and used by the Lord for His purpose and plan.
That gives me hope.
The same God who used imperfect people throughout history to achieve His purposes is still restoring and strengthening those He calls today.
May His Scripture give you comfort, assurance, motivation, and hope as well.
“Scripture“
I wonder what God thinks of me,
When I fall short, sin miserably,
When I forget that He is God,
When to His call I don’t respond,
Or when I’m anxious, not trusting,
Or my own path I’m following,
I’m thankful for the clear pictures
Of similar things in His scriptures.
Moses reluctantly obeyed,
Elijah was faithful but dismayed,
David was flawed, yet still was blessed,
Jacob deceived, but then found rest,
Aaron saw God but made idols,
Paul killed saints, then sparked revivals,
Each one of these turned to the Lord,
And through God’s love they were restored.
The ancient Words, they give me hope,
Alive and true, they help me cope,
With situations that I face,
As I step forth under God’s grace,
Filled with wisdom and encouragement,
Needed spiritual nourishment,
They strengthen me, help me endure,
I trust the Lord and His Scripture.
