Not Forsaken

We all have moments where our burdens are heavy…more than we feel we can carry…and our fears are amplified…seemingly louder than God’s truth. It’s in those moments that we have to get away, to cut through the noise and tune into His presence and His voice, and to release to Him to receive His peace.

God’s presence is a promise we can count on in those moments:

“Not Forsaken”

I found myself a quiet place
to ponder things, to slow the pace,
to peer forward at what’s ahead,
and maybe somehow squelch the dread;
all that I see is so daunting,
and all I hear is fear taunting,
I’m not sure how I’ll make it through,
but You have told me what to do.

You’ll be with me, help me to stand,
I have Your strength, Your helping hand,
whatever comes, I’m not alone,
nor will I ever be disowned;
for You are faithful, standing with me,
in that there’s no uncertainty,
so though the burden’s overwhelming,
I’m held secure by Your indwelling.

I head back now with newfound peace,
it pierced through me when I released
the issues and outcomes to You,
believing all You said was true;
I’m confident You won’t fail me,
You’re in control, will always be,
though what I faced, it had me shaken,
You’ve promised me I’m not forsaken.

Whatever we step into next, we’re not stepping into it alone…God is with us…God is for us…God will not forsake us…He is our strength.

God’s promise to Joshua is His promise to us as well!

May we rest on that promise!
